University of the Third Age (U3A)

Now in its second year the Portsdown Branch of U3A  continues to be a friendly relaxed group who always welcomes new members and is always open to new ideas for social activities.

The U3A is an organisation run by, and for, those who are no longer working or are in part time work.  Members meet monthly when we welcome speakers who have spoken on such diverse subjects as Spanish Classical art to Astronomy – Journey to the Stars.  September’s subject is ‘Nevil Shute – Wheezer & Dodger’.

Individual groups meet more often and these groups and activities include Music, Photography, Walking, Play Reading and Book Club.

We meet on 3rd Monday of each month (not August), 2pm at

The Link, (formerly Uncle Tom’s Cabin)

Cosham Baptist Church, Havant Road, Cosham

You are welcome to come along to any of our monthly meetings.  Entry for non-members is £2.  Annual membership is £15.

For more information contact  our Chairman, John Gill  023 9238 4514, or Membership Secretary, David Goble on 023 9232 4065.
