On Monday 21st July the Carers Centre moved to its new home, Joining up with the Mental Health Carers Service at their Orchard Road office. After five years in its present location it was felt that Carer’s services had outgrown the Kingston Road office and that a move into the Orchard Road office would give us the room necessary for the ongoing expansion of Carers Services. Although the Kingston Road office will be greatly missed, the new building has a number of excellent facilities that were not previously available to us. The new building has dedicated Interview rooms where Carers can come in and speak to a
worker in private. It also has a well equipped kitchen where our food team will be running healthy eating sessions and that will also be of great benefit to the Young Carers at their Monday night club. The workshop area is also undergoing transformation to turn
it into a multi – purpose meeting room and activity centre. As well as providing a dedicated meeting space it can also be used
by Carers groups and will provide a much more relaxed and spacious venue for the Young Carers on a Monday night with Internet access and plenty of space for arts and craft activities.
