Who are the Drayton and Farlington Action Group and What do they do ?
Lack of policing and leisure facilities for young people
The Group started from a survey into the amenities and facilities needed by residents 55 years of age and over in Drayton and Farlington. Following publication of the survey report in October 2002, the team formed themselves into the Drayton and Farlington Action Group to oversee implementation of the reports main findings which were:
Bus services need to be improved
No access to cash points and banking facilities
Lack of utility shops: those there are, are expensive
Uneven and dangerous pavements and roads
Need for: bereavement group, drop in centre, benefits surgery, shopping service, good neighbour scheme
Need for additional pedestrian crossings
Poor library, information and leisure facilities. (A library and a modern community centre were high on a list of facilities seen as needed in the area)
